Our Concierge Construction Method
1. Discovery
We walk your site, understand how you’ll use the space (hosting, quiet mornings, year-round grilling), and align on goals, constraints, and any historic/neighborhood considerations.
2. Paid Design Agreement
Before anyone swings a hammer, we scope the project, refine materials and selections, and align budget/allowances. This is a paid pre-construction agreement that protects clarity and minimizes rework later.
3. Pricing & Proposal
We solicit/level bids, present a detailed cost breakdown, and discuss tradeoffs openly. You approve the budget and timeline with eyes wide open.
4. Construction Contract
With plans, selections, and numbers finalized, we lock scope and sign the construction agreement (including schedule, site logistics, and cleanliness standards).
5. Build with proactive updates
Your project is managed in Buildertrend with milestone updates and photos. Choose bi-weekly or milestone-based check-ins; we’ll tailor communication to you.
6. Final walkthrough & handoff
We complete punch, deliver documentation and care/warranty info, and schedule a follow-up after you’ve lived with the space.
Change orders, made clear: If you request a change, we’ll show the exact cost/time impact so you decide if it’s worth it. Your vision and decisions; our expert execution.
What we build for Provo backyards and façades

Patios & pergolas
Stone or paver patios, louvered or lattice pergolas, and shade structures designed for orientation and mountain winds.
Outdoor kitchens
Gas, electric, and drainage planned up front; stone or powder-coated cabinets; appliance spec and ventilation that performs year-round.
Exterior façades & lighting
Siding, stone, and trim refreshes that respect existing architecture (and historic sensitivities where applicable), plus layered landscape lighting.
Local expertise: Provo permitting, historic districts & timing
Permits: Provo requires permits for many exterior projects. We coordinate with the Provo Building Division and handle submittals and inspections for you.
Historic districts: In designated areas or on landmarked properties, exterior changes (including decks/porches) may require a Certificate of (Historic) Appropriateness through the Landmarks Commission—our team addresses this early to avoid delays.
Best timing windows: Summers are dry with fewer wet days, ideal for exterior finishes; spring is popular for mobilization and allows summer enjoyment. Cold-weather work is possible for structural scopes with planning. We’ll phase and schedule around Provo’s climate so quality isn’t compromised.
Real stories from clients who wanted more than just a builder.
What It’s Like to Work with CM Pros
David was correct. Not only did he diagnose the problem but did an amazing job repairing the extensive damage, including a main support post, that wasn’t part of the original project. While most people are waiting months for appliances, sub-contractors, etc. in this horrible supply chain climate he used his network to find everything, and everyone, we needed to get the project done in record time. He took care of literally everything throughout the process. His sub-contractors love working with him and they actually show up 😊 We are enjoying our new beautiful space already with only a few small details to finish up. We’ll be sad to see him go. Not only is he an amazing contractor but really does care about his customers and takes great pride in the quality of work performed. David is a great person all the way around. We’ll hire him again for future projects and highly recommend him. Happy CMP Customer in Sandy, Utah"
We made a couple of changes and added on couple of projects and he adjusted as needed for us. He also had a couple of creative suggestions for us which we appreciated. The crews and sub contractors were professional and dependable and I felt good and did not worry about having them in my home.
Just like others during this time there were supply chain issues and Dave dealt with these issues professionally and communicated with us. Dave is honest, and the work was done the way we expect, I’m picky, and it turned out beautiful.
I would work with Dave again and highly recommend him."
David communicated well throughout the process so that there were no surprises and made himself available to answer any questions or concerns we may have had.
Also, despite the craziness in construction these days with regards to worker and material availability, he was able to get all of the work done as planned (we had a strict deadline).
Overall, after vetting a few contractors out there, we are glad we decided to choose David for our project!"

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a permit for my deck/pergola/patio cover in Provo?
Often yes. We evaluate scope and zoning, prepare plans, and submit them to Provo’s Building Division. Historic properties may need a Landmarks Commission approval first.
What’s the timeline?
After Discovery, the paid Design Agreement aligns selections and budget. Typical exterior builds range from a few weeks to several months, depending on scope and lead times; we’ll provide a schedule with milestones and updates you control.
How do you keep me “in the driver’s seat” without overloading me?
We present decisions with clear cost/time ramifications and let you choose. You can opt for bi-weekly or milestone-only updates, and we’ll manage the rest.
What materials work best in Provo?
Composites and aluminum rail for low maintenance; stone and pavers with proper base/drainage; pergolas designed for snow/wind; finishes scheduled in warmer/drier windows.
Can you help with outdoor kitchens?
Yes—utilities, ventilation, and appliance specs are coordinated in design so the build is smooth.
