Our Concierge Construction Method
1. Discovery & Feasibility
We meet on-site, listen to your goals, and identify structural and code considerations. You’ll receive a clear path forward.
2. Paid Design Agreement (Pre-Construction Design)
We move into a structured, paid design phase that develops plans, elevations, and specifications—along with a detailed, line-item budget and selections calendar. This is where we lock the scope so there are no surprises later.
3. Pre-Construction Planning
We sequence the work, submit for permits, order long-lead items, and confirm your construction schedule. In Provo, this includes preparing plan sets, elevations, and other items required for residential remodel submittal; we also handle plan review fees and online portal submissions on your behalf. Where applicable, we include REScheck for energy compliance.
4. Build
Your superintendent runs a predictable schedule with established site-protection protocols (dust control, negative-air where needed, safe paths). Inspections are coordinated; any changes are documented and approved in writing before work proceeds.
5. Closeout & Warranty
We complete a detailed punch list together, provide owner manuals and care guides, and stand behind our work.
What a whole-home remodel can include
- Layout & structural reconfiguration to open living areas or add a primary suite.
- Systems upgrades: Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and ventilation.
- Envelope & efficiency: Insulation, windows/doors, air sealing, and energy code compliance where applicable (REScheck).
- Kitchens & baths: Custom cabinetry, stone surfaces, tile, high-end fixtures.
- Interior finishes: Flooring, millwork, paint, lighting.
- Additions & second stories: Blended seamlessly with the existing architecture.
Local Provo expertise (permits, historic, neighborhoods)
We handle the submittals and coordination so you don’t have to. Provo requires complete plan sets and elevations for remodels/additions, and fees are based on valuation, with a plan review fee due at submittal. Submittal is done via the city’s online portal.
Before any demolition, Provo points you to the Utah Division of Air Quality for asbestos notification—we coordinate that step.
Working on a property in a historic district (e.g., Joaquin or parts of Downtown/Maeser)? We’ll obtain a Landmarks Commission Certificate of Appropriateness before exterior work begins and align design with local guidelines.
Neighborhoods we serve in Provo: Edgemont, Grandview, Joaquin, Maeser, Lakeview, Provost, Downtown Provo, East Bench—and throughout Utah County.
Real stories from clients who wanted more than just a builder.
What It’s Like to Work with CM Pros
David was correct. Not only did he diagnose the problem but did an amazing job repairing the extensive damage, including a main support post, that wasn’t part of the original project. While most people are waiting months for appliances, sub-contractors, etc. in this horrible supply chain climate he used his network to find everything, and everyone, we needed to get the project done in record time. He took care of literally everything throughout the process. His sub-contractors love working with him and they actually show up 😊 We are enjoying our new beautiful space already with only a few small details to finish up. We’ll be sad to see him go. Not only is he an amazing contractor but really does care about his customers and takes great pride in the quality of work performed. David is a great person all the way around. We’ll hire him again for future projects and highly recommend him. Happy CMP Customer in Sandy, Utah"
We made a couple of changes and added on couple of projects and he adjusted as needed for us. He also had a couple of creative suggestions for us which we appreciated. The crews and sub contractors were professional and dependable and I felt good and did not worry about having them in my home.
Just like others during this time there were supply chain issues and Dave dealt with these issues professionally and communicated with us. Dave is honest, and the work was done the way we expect, I’m picky, and it turned out beautiful.
I would work with Dave again and highly recommend him."
David communicated well throughout the process so that there were no surprises and made himself available to answer any questions or concerns we may have had.
Also, despite the craziness in construction these days with regards to worker and material availability, he was able to get all of the work done as planned (we had a strict deadline).
Overall, after vetting a few contractors out there, we are glad we decided to choose David for our project!"

FAQs: Whole-Home Remodeling in Provo
How much does a whole-home remodel cost in Provo?
Costs vary with scope (structural changes, kitchens/baths count), square footage, and finish level. During the paid Design Agreement, you’ll receive a detailed, line-item budget before construction, so you can scale up or down with clarity.
Do I need a permit?
Yes—Provo requires residential remodel permits and plan review. We prepare submittals (plans/elevations), manage the online portal, and handle the plan review fee.
What about energy code or asbestos rules?
Where applicable, we include REScheck documentation for energy compliance; before demolishing finishes, we coordinate required asbestos notifications with the Utah Division of Air Quality.
How long will it take?
Design timelines depend on complexity; construction often ranges from several months for modest scopes to longer for major reconfigurations/additions. Your schedule is set in pre-construction and updated weekly.
Can we live in the home during work?
Sometimes—especially with phased scopes. We’ll advise honestly and, if you stay, implement dust and safety controls and plan noisy/impactful work windows.
Is the design phase really paid?
Yes. The design phase is a paid Design Agreement. It gives you a priced, build-ready plan and prevents surprises later.
How do you handle changes?
All change orders are documented with scope, cost, and schedule impact in writing before work proceeds.
